About Me

My name is Ana (Amani) Nicholson and I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in the Guildford area, accredited by the National Counselling Society.

Bilingual in English and Arabic.

From a young age I was passionate about helping others so to find myself within the counselling profession was not a surprise for many. With many years experience caring for children, I decided to embark on a new journey working with adults.

My professional counselling career began with clients affected by grief and bereavement, a volunteering role I am proud to have been a part of. The complexities of loss naturally inspired the direction of my work to focus more on generalised anxieties and traumas which lead to depression.

I strongly believe there is not one type of therapy that fits all. I have subsequently trained in a pluralistic approach which simply means I am able to collaboratively work with you to find a style that suits you best. Tailoring your therapy sessions to meet your own personal needs is advantageous to your course of treatment.

I am delighted to be in a position to offer counselling in person, walking therapy, virtually via teams and by telephone. I hope to be able to support you through whatever it is that brings you to therapy.
